A medal dedicated to the most mysterious Czechoslovak coin, the rare 5-haller from 1924, which was caught in circulation during the First Republic.

The medal commemorates the 100th anniversary of the minting of the Czechoslovak five-halier coin from 1924. The establishment of Czechoslovakia on October 28, 1918 led to the need for a monetary reform, which was undertaken by Finance Minister Dr. Alois Rašín. Professor Otakar Španiel submitted models for the five-halier, two-halier, and ten-halier coins on May 29, 1922, and after adjustments, the model for the five-halier received approval for mass production. On August 7, 1922, the Kremnica Mint confirmed the suitability of the models, and on February 24, 1923, the ministry approved large-scale production. By the end of 1923, 40 million coins were minted, of which 2.2 million were delivered to the bank authority in 1924. The 1924 five-halier is now considered the rarest Czechoslovak circulating coin.
