A medal dedicated to the most mysterious Czechoslovak coin, the rare 5-haller from 1924, which was caught in circulation during the First Republic.
Mintage: 70 pieces limited and numbered edition
The medal commemorates the 100th anniversary of the Czechoslovak five-halier coin minted in 1924. Czechoslovakia’s founding on October 28, 1918, necessitated a monetary reform led by Finance Minister Dr. Alois Rašín. On May 29, 1922, Professor Otakar Španiel submitted models for five-, two-, and ten-halier coins; after adjustments, the five-halier model was approved for mass production. On August 7, 1922, the Kremnica Mint confirmed the models' suitability, and on February 24, 1923, the ministry greenlit large-scale production. By the end of 1923, 40 million coins had been minted, with 2.2 million delivered to the bank authority in 1924. The 1924 five-halier is now regarded as the rarest Czechoslovak circulating coin.
